  1. SHAREPLUS MOBILE PC
  2. SHAREPLUS MOBILE OFFLINE

SHAREPLUS MOBILE PC

Something that I wish you could do when syncing SharePoint libraries in Windows on your PC via the OneDrive Sync Client. That “selective sync” is excellent, you can even just go down to the individual documents and make them available offline.

Whereas with SharePlus you had to go to the library and then turn on Offline Support. What I really like about Colligo Engage Mobile was that when you accessed a site you automatically had the ability to select which libraries that you wanted to sync.

Everything you would want and expect from these types of applications. Both allow to add multiple sites, excellent document previewing and having the ability to add favorites is a real bonus to access important and heavily used files quickly and easily, Edit Office Documents in Office, edit content offline and sync changes when back online, view document properties, check in and check out.

Let me first start off by saying that in no way am I affiliated to either of these products, while researching this solution these were to two standouts.Īfter researching both products, the core functionality of both are pretty similar (see my comparison table below). If things went down that path then questions like: “So where do I put this updated policy document for the Sales Team to see? Do I upload to the Policy and Procedures Hub, Print it to OneNote or attach the file in OneNote? I don’t know…I will just email it to everyone.” Third Party SolutionsĮnter SharePlus and Colligo Engage Mobile. We could also think laterally and embed or print documents to OneNote, store the NoteBook on a Team or Department Site and via the OneNote IOS App have mobile and offline access. While technically this would allow access through the OneDrive IOS Application and appear as folders under the Shared Tab and give users offline capability, the management of such a solution would probably not be that practical OneDrive for Business?Ī “Generic” user could be created in the Office 365 Tenant and use that users OneDrive for Business to share folders with different groups, departments and external parties. We want to have a single source of truth (the SharePoint Document Library), the ability to provide mobile and offline access to the roaming workforce and also have the capability to externally share this content.

Probably because a lot of effort is being poured into Office 365 or Outlook Groups. Therefore we are left to come up with other solutions / workarounds or turn to 3rd Party applications to fill the void. But how do we go about synchronizing SharePoint Document Libraries to these mobile devices, given the fact our client only has SharePoint Online Plan 1 licenses and we need external sharing support, and offline support?Īs yet Microsoft does not have an IOS native application that fits this purpose and I am yet to see anything on the road map. We have the new OneDrive client for IOS Devices that takes care of OneDrive Personal and OneDrive for Business, great. We need to ability to Sync SharePoint Libraries from our intranet to our iPhones and iPADS, just like the we can with the OneDrive for Business App, why can’t we just use that app?
